Jeepers! 70th Jeep have their 70th birthday!
Jeep have proudly celebrated their 70th birthday, although as far as I'm concerned they only came to my recognition in the late 1970's when I inherited my cousins Action Man collection which included a traditional army green jeep. It's funny really, as a buzz-cut eagle eyed Action Man is a pretty iconic role model for a lot of kids my age and the Jeep is as pretty iconic as the original SUV. As well as updating their model line, Jeep are launching a new web portal with the aim of introducing a new social soul to Jeep. jeep-people.com is currently tacking a chap who certainly has the j-factor, Alex Bellini, as he runs 5,000km across country in the USA with a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited accompanying him. Cover versions
I’m a fan of music as you may have noticed from some of the posts on the blog. My musical tastes span almost everything from the new folk revival of the 60′s, to ambient dance, all the way through heavy metal, hard rock and the odd bit of pompous prog rock. What I do like in addition to this is a good cover version. To me a good cover version is more of a reinterpretation rather than a slavish note for note reproduction. Putting a Google+ profile button on your blog
It’s really simple to put a Google+ button in your blog or website. Firstly, you need to take your profile number from your existing Google+ account. If you look at your home profile page, you will see the web address is in this format: https://plus.google.com/SOME_NUMBERS/posts I’ve greyed them out in mine, but if you’re not sure, click on the image below to expand, and you’ll see in the address bar at the top a place where the numbers live: Then, click on the link to the button maker and paste your unique number in the reference box. A few quid of car
I like strolling around central London, you see a lot of expensive metal. And it’s obvious that some of the people who own the expensive cars have very deep pockets, otherwise why would you park your Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing on the corner of a junction, opposite a massive section of road works. Given the non standard matt, finish paint job, I might be overcooking it when I reckon with all the extra’s the owners packed in there, it’s probably in excess of £200,000 (and the optional extras rack up very easily), but I bet I’m not far off.
